Pursuant to §1.7.10 and §1.12 of the 2003 Uniform Fire Code, all construction, modifications, renovations, remodels, alterations,
repairs, or improvements to any structure, excluding 1 or 2 family dwellings, educational, day-care, non-ambulatory health care, detention
and correctional, and nursing homes shall first be approved by the City Fire Marshal, unless the scope of the work is exempt as outlined
in “Process Exemptions.” “Structure” shall include apartments, lodging and rooming houses, hotel-motel-dormitories, businesses,
mercantile, industrial, storage, special structures, or assembly occupancies. This process shall govern any scope of work either

to comply with this process will result in a written stop work order for all operations. Any attempt to misrepresent or deliberately
provide false information is subject to the criminal penalties of the West Virginia State Fire Code, and also may lead to the suspension
or revocation of any related permits, business or contractors licenses, or certificates of occupancy.
